Finance Controller
Location: Near Salisbury, UK
£55 - £65,000

This role is based primarily in the Downton office with the option to work a day week from home. About the Role This is a full time (or four days), role for an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller to lead the finance function and play a key role in shaping the future of the company. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board of Directors, you’ll have full oversight of all finance operations, while also being a proactive and valued contributor to business strategy. You’ll manage a small and capable finance team (currently two direct reports) and ensure all systems, processes and reporting evolve in step with the growth of the business. This is a role that requires more than technical expertise - we’re looking for someone who can interpret the numbers, challenge assumptions, influence direction and provide clarity when it matters most. Key Responsibilities Lead all day-to-day financial operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, banking and payroll (which may be brought in-house in the future). Prepare and present timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts. Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring strong financial planning. Maintain compliance with financial regulations and internal controls. Provide insightful financial reporting and commercial analysis to inform strategic decision-making. Support financial due diligence for any future partnerships or investment opportunities. Maintain and evolve financial systems, controls, and procedures as the business scales. About You Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Proven experience in a senior finance role. Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards. Proficiency in financial systems and ERP tools including Sage Intacct. Experience in a regulated or tech-based environment (healthcare, health tech, or SaaS) is an advantage. Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and stand your ground when needed. Comfortable challenging assumptions and presenting data-led reasoning in a constructive way. A proactive leader who takes ownership and drives continuous improvement.
